I havent posted a scan of the stamp, because I am not looking for a general oppinion. I would like to have oppinion of someone who specialises in this area. I can send a photo by private message, for PM reply
Thanks |

The beauty of scanning is that you get both informed and uninformed opinions. Or, more importantly, any opinion at all. |

would have to agree, seems stupid not to scan it.. some might be more than qualified to determine if it's legit. |

Hi
This forum is full of people who know many things, and I would class it as the most specialised stamp forum in the world. If some-one here can not help then I would think, in my opinion, that you are not interested in specialist help Horamakhet |

Jay Smith is a dealer specializing in Scandinavia and he also provides an expertizing service: http://www.jaysmith.com/expertizing.htmlOf course, his opinion won't be free, but if you want a real expert on Swedish stamps, he's probably your man, and you can trust his opinions. He even offers a "quick opinion service" (not the same as actual expertization) for $10, if I read it right. |

I have full respect for the forum. My only wish is to have stamp checked out in person by someone who knows what he is looking for. It seems there is no real chance for that at the moment, so it remains in may classer until such a chance arises, with a note besides it - "forgery".
Thanks |

You could also try Karl Norsten, a specialist Swedish stamp dealer http://norsten.com/. All his contact details are on the front page of his website. I have purchased many Iceland stamps from him, and he is both prompt and professional. He hasn't expertised stamps for me so I can't tell you what the cost will be. |

i have never come across something as strange as this..
you have a stamp, some say it's not genuine yet you do not want to test it on the gathered knowledge of this forum?
do you know that people providing expertized papers on stamps are often surpassed on knowledge by many others?

Thanks redwoodrandy. I found this link in my search, along with two more that show my stamp in particular. |

Milan, very nice! Is the stamp vermillion or orange-vermillion? I can't tell from the scan. It makes no difference to the catalogue value, but nice to know |

Thanks. I would say its vermillion and 99,99 percent not genuine. I just decided it wasnt fair to bring up the subject without full disclosure, so.... |

what makes you so sure? well it's very well made, if it's a forgery.
there is something about the perforation that tips me to agree, but something like this does appear from time to time, and definately worth a certificate.
if you want I can get some names for you to contact?
