I ask why Forgery stamps are very expensive

Basically for the same reason other stamps are expensive - market pressure. Believe it or not, quite a few collectors keep copies of forgeries just as a resource so they know what they look like. When they start buying these, the price goes up.

May I also add that many forgeries are rarer than the real thing, so availability is a factor as well.

Some forgeries, like Fournier and Sperati forgeries are excellent pieces and need to be in exhibits or fine collections as reference pieces. If you reach the advanced collector stage, you will understand why. Some of these pieces are absolutely amazing when placed next to a genuine piece.
