Need Help With The Lyrebird

Hello! I'm a beginner in collecting stamps, and I was given this lyrebird to start my collection. I found that there were many varieties of it, but I have no idea if this one has any. Can you help me identify it? Unfortunately, it seems to have a crease in it. Hopefully that doesn't detract from anything

Guess:
Going by the teeth, I'd suggest this is the small Lyrebird.
Ergo, there will be 2 types.
Are you able to detect a Watermark?
Are you able to Measure the Perforations?

We can then go from there.

Further:
Using math, the perforation would be 15x14
So it could be 1941 or 1956
It looks unwatermarked, so my Guess is 1956 Sc#300

How can I detect them?

Watermarks:
Search this forum for watermark detection.
Watermark fluid is available from stamp shops.
Others use good quality Lighter Fluid (Obviously caution is required using flammable liquids) Just dip the stamp in and place on a clean black background (dish)

Perforations.
You will need a perforation guage available on ebay.

Your stamp looks normal to me, if indeed it is 1956.
No varieties evident.
Value around $1

Crease:
Most collectors, myself included would be happy with that example, it is clean (although "used") with handsome teeth.

The more fastidious collector, would reject that stamp due to the crease,
and when selling stamps as this, one should always indicate damage, as you did in your opening. It does knock off value, esp if evident front of stamp.

The Lyrebird doesn't seem to have a watermark (guessing, as the image is not clear enough to make an accurate assessment); without a watermark the year would be 1956 and the perforation 14.75 x 14 (15 x 14).

The crease is quite evident and would impact strongly on the value of any stamp; in the recent Australian Commonwealth Specialists' Catalogue (published 2015) in undamaged used condition the stamp is valued at $2.00; the stamp shown with the crease would only be considered as space filler and worth approximately $1.00.
