It looks like the Steiner page stamp boxes are all undersized.

I presume they were designed that way,
When in mounts, the stamp boxes are hidden, offering a cleaner look ?

Bearing in mind I am printing on Aussie A4 format paper.

I don't think so. The reason the boxes are undersized is printing PDF file in wrong way.

When printing from PDF Acrobat file, we have to ensure that the "Shrink oversized pages to paper size", and "Expand small pages to paper size" options are not marked in the printer dialogue box. Mark "None" (or "Don't Fit") under "Page Scaling" in the printer instructions and set the page to "A4" under "Page Setup". Otherwise, items on the page may be printed with the wrong dimensions. (Different printing programs may have different dialogue box and the commands may be different).

What a fine mess that got me into !
I altered the setting similar to above,
the printer defaulted to "print all copies"
Then proceeded to print (or attempt to) print all 294 pages

only way to stop it was pull out the paper tray

Sheesh
I have "cancelled all documents"
I have turned off the computer
I have removed and re connected the cord

Booted up and it still wants to print 294 pages

When am I going to learn not to mess with things!
I'll try again in the morning

OK I had a shower, vented to that bloke I saw in the mirror,
Had a cup of tea.
Booted up
All Ok, printed 1 page.

Perhaps the change was worth it, maybe?
The page was overall larger, on the A4 page

The boxes of the 1982 Page 28 had become larger both Horiz and vert by 2mm

Only thing remaining, see if I can alter the deafult from "print all pages"
That was a nightmare.

Once in a while one can get caught by the resize selection when printing PDFs. The setting is usually saved but can be reset after some event like an upgrade. The Steiner stamp box is around 2+mm larger than the stamp and gets covered when using a mount due to the border in the mount. I use clear mounts so the border is visible.

I switched all my album page printing to the manual feed paper tray so I do not make the mistake of printing the wrong pages (like starting at page 1 when you just want page 22) or have the wrong paper in main tray. I use special paper so need to waste but then I have a drawer of mistake printers from over the years.

But then I add catalog numbers and page mumbers to my pages so working one by one is part of the work flow.

Blimey, those Elvis mini-sheets … the stamp world has paid a terrible price for a few good months at 706 Union Avenue.
