I have had a query from a collector off forum, for any information on Scott #2561 (Reputed largest stamp of any country) (Buddha's history souvenir sheet 5000T )
Anyone aware of a postally used example ? any other Information? Printer / designer etc?
Thank you.

Progressive colour proofs of Sc 2269 (1997). Came in a recent purchase of florals for my wife's Etsy store. An interesting item, many years ago used to be in printing so this takes me back to late nights reviewing proof sheets. ~Greg |

Rod, Great pages and stamps, several of them I have in my folklore collection. Here are the missing two stamps in the 1932 page you posted in the first page of this thread:

Lovely stamps Phil. There is something about them, no propaganda, just straight scenes from the time. Some of the best designed stamps in the world for mine. Sadly it went downhill fast.
Do we know whom designed this set Phil?

I have no idea, but since the design is very resemble to the USSR and Tuva stamps from that year, I assume the stamps were designed by a Soviet designer. |
