Aside from the "cinquieme arbre" (Maury 85a), there's also a further variety, the "arbre coupé" (Maury 85b), in which the tree at the left is split horizontally. These pop up on all of the stamps of this design. Which reminds me that I must dig out my duplicates and start going through them.

Thank you Geoff, nice info. Nice to see I am inspiring you to work  The Postmark seems ORAN-R??? Then I searched SCF database, and saw Eric's Postmarks thread. I Gave up  In the "Too Hard" basket. |

Hi Rod,
I'm not sure from your post if you had an answer for "RP".
On French area postmarks, RP = "Recette Principale" i.e. the main post office of the town or district.

Same - excellent.
Rod - sorry, meant the unissued 90c, the August issue of which was abandoned because of an imminent change in postal rates. When the stamps appeared in December, it was with two different 1 Franc surcharges.
