Old Japanese Stamps Used.

the firstis 1876 grey 5r with red overstamp the secomd is 2sen colour drab. the third is 10 sen blue all 1876. with another twenty up to 1900.are they worth investigation.

From left to right (---->)

#1. Tazawa series, 1 Yen. The red (crimson) overprint is indeed the part of the original design.

You need to look at the paper (granite or white), watermark and the size of the printed are to identify the issue.

1) Unwatermarked, White paper, 19mmx22.5mm : 1913 issue.
2) Zig-zag watermarked (Taisho watermark), Granite paper,19mmx22.5mm : 1914 issue.
3) Zig-zag watermarked (Taisho watermark), Granite paper,18.5mmx22.5mm : 1930 issue.

There are later issues with different watermark and white paper, but could be rejected due to the year inscription in the date stamp ("5" indicating either Taisho 5 = 1916 or Showa 5 = 1930.

#2. Old Koban 10 sen light blue, 1877, with telegraph cancellation of (possibly) Fukuoka telegraph office.

#3. Old Koban 2 Sen olive, 1876, with double circle type datestamp (detailed information unreadable).

#4. New Koban 5 Rin grey, 1889. Not sure for the red cachet (definitely not a part of date stamp)
