I know its quite handy to have one. Since im working on a worldwide collection, I would need one that covers all countries. Does it come all in one for newer editions? The one I have access to is a 1985 edition and it covers just United States and territories of the US/former territories. Or are they all just coveringcertain areas. Thanks for the information. .

Your catalog sounds like it is a Specialized US. Go to the Amos Advantage website and you will find the world wide catalog which comes in several volumes. Try ebay for last years, much better deal.

Go on ebay and purchase a complete set that is over 5 years old and it will be fine . Don't need a up to date price listing because it is meaningless .
I believe all the general catalogs are now fumbling and searching for a way to price stamps. Once the internet and ebay got going most stamp dealers did away with price list and long list of prices being printed in the newspapers and magzines .

Thanks for the help. The latest stamps date wise that I have is from 1977. It was a couple of packets that you get from like a stamp dealer that has the stamp number(s)and the year it was printed in. Most in my collection is before the 1950's though.

StampManage Deluxe 2017 from Liberty Street Software can be used as a digital worldwide catalogue, price is way under the printed catalogues. There's also a 30 day trial version that can be downloaded to see if it's suitable. More info here: http://libertystreet.com/Stamp-Coll...Software.htm

I would never buy a complete Scotts that had to be shipped - regardless of the sell price. The set weighs a ton. If I wanted a set I'd advertise locally or ask at area stamp club, or use the community library's set (most have one). For novice searching I recommend using ebay. Best free catalogue on the go - with much more realistic prices.

I purchased my Scott (2009) Volumes 1-6 on Amazon. I got them used for about $10 (including shipping).

Also, your local library, especially a large or main branch, may well have them. If they do, often the most recent set is in reference, but the next most recent ones are able to be checked out.

You may want to see if that's an option in your area.

I am in the same boat. I inherited a 2006 Scott Stamp Catalogue from a retired stamp dealer. For post 2006 stamps, I visit the library and check out one of their latest volumes. I am grateful for the continued dedication of stamp collectors everywhere who check out library stamp books and catalogues in order to keep these circulations going for over 30 years.
