hi all..

this penny red seems to have a lot of breaks in the value and ink extends beyond frame line.. any views??

That is a great stamp!
A worn plate so has an Stanley Gibbons number of S.G.9. Just a quick look and it appears to have a basal shift too (your"ink extends beyond frame lines" reference). Not possessing the greatest eyesight at the moment means I cannot see if there is a re-entry so get a slightly better scan so someone else may spot something.
Will try to plate it later as there might be something in Gibbons about the appropriate plate varieties.



Plate 57 with a basal shift. No re-entry. Stamps with check letters NA to NK will all have basal shifts. Nice one.
