Last week I listed the collection shown below and hoped for $100, with an hour to go it was at $64 so I thought it would be OK. After some TV I came back and almost fell over when I saw the final result. Of course the outcome is tainted because it looks like a deadbeat bought it, but what is in this one that I missed? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Siam-Collec...8547477?rd=1

Hopefully the buyer will pay up. Where is the buyer's location? The buyer might be waiting to transfer funds into a PayPal account before paying. Email the buyer if you haven't already to see when payment should be expected. If they do pay, I'm sure it goes without saying, send it with electronic signature confirmation even if you have to pay for a secure mail shipment with your own funds.
Even if you don't ever find out why it went for such a high price sometimes it's best not to look the gift horse in the mouth. I know I've had my share of items sell for beyond expectations for no obvious reason. Congrats. |

The buyer is in Thailand, has Private feedback and 0 feedback. I'm not hopeful. |

Send it Priority Mail Express International and pay for the extra insurance. And just hope it makes it because filing a claim is pathetically slow with USPS. I know because I had to do that. But Priority Mail is the only way to get insurance for that kind of value.
By the way, I had something along those lines happen to me once. Started a postcard at $150 knowing that it was rare. I figured anything over that was a bonus. Woke up the morning of the sale and found I had sold it for $1930. But then again it's only one of a handful known in collections. |

I use Shipsaver Insurance from ebay, it's cheaper. They make you wait 45 days to file a overseas claim but then they pay in 3 days. I collected on 2 claims this week. Years ago I sold 2 Japan airmail covers from the 1950s with the Buddha stamps. The covers were addressed to Madagascar. I started them at $4.95 hoping to get a bid. When the dust settled they sold for $2200, I have never found out why. |

All you need are a couple of people with money that want a particular item and all bets are off. I sold a couple dollar Zippo lighter that I had brought back from Vietnam for $575 when I would have been happy with a tenth of that. |

I am not a hard core Thai collector, but that price does seem extraordinary. Good luck. Will you not ship the items, until they have been paid for?

Definitely won't ship until payment received, it wouldn't matter if it sold for $2. |

Hi. After looking At this selection it became evident that the secret was hidden in something not at first apparent. No errors in the overprints ,nothing inverted. So that means ''THE STAMP'' was among it's fellow's hidden as a misplaced stamp.Second page ,5th row down,2nd stamp and I think you have Scott#42 type i.The 2 Atts was in the wrong place..... ,or in the right place for these clever and open eyed bidders... |

Congratulations. I would bid on this lot $40, maybe $60, hoping to find some overprint variety. Apparently, people in Thailand know their stamps pretty well. BTW, I never ship lots until I receive payment in full. |

Wow! well done members. That was hard to spot, even under magnification. If you know your Thai, then I guess you know where to look for the rarities, even so the diff between I and k is not much on a blurry image. Good luck for the sale.
