Hi Cris and Rod,

I recommend John Barefoot's "South East Asia Revenues".

It lists lots of interesting things including Thai revenues.

Despite its name, this covers revenue stamps from a wide range of countries from French and Portuguese India across to Indonesia and Japan.

However, it does not include revenues from India and states or from mainland China.

This appears to be a one baht blue-black general revenue stamp from the 1962 set printed by De La Rue.

There was a similar stamp in blue printed by Waterlow in 1952.

Apparently De La Rue printed their set using Waterlow's plates.

The 1962 set has seven values all with this same design.

In fact this basic design showing a musician has been used in various versions since 1935.

Thank you Nigel.
Saved for reference.
I had seen the Waterlow example (hole punched as "remainders" I guessed)
and had been curious.

My research for the "Musician" had failed, I am sure there is a Thai reference to this icon somewhere.

My frightful Thai translation for this stamp was "agorn sadem" or Revenue stamp,
any Thai speakers welcome to set me right :)
