Found this stationery piece. Does this type have a specific name or description. I ask this because of the presence of the: From P.O. Dept F. and Form G.11 on this piece.
Johan, a friendly reminder from another Dutchman. If something stands still it is called stationary. If you can write on it, it is called stationery. Common mistake! Now, I believe there is no name for it other than a "official envelope". It looks to be an official Post Office cover - the post office that mailed this thing would put its info after the letters P.O. in the left hand corner.
This is an unused self-addressed stamped envelope, SASE. Mailed under cover to a customer who would return their reply in it.
All of the red printing except the circular 2 cent imprint was added privately by The Globe Adjustment Bureau. The "From / P.O." to encourage a return address, the "Form G 11" an internal coding of the GAB, and the "Dept F" is for internal sorting at the GAB.
As always, I agree with John. This is not an official post office cover. It is simply an ordinary piece of postal stationery that was purchased by a private company who then applied their own address and markings to it for their internal routing so when they gave it to someone to use to reply to them it would be easily handled within that private company. This is an unused example.
