Hi all,
Newly registered member here,
My dear Mother sadly passed away last November and going through her
paperwork and belongings to help sort out her Estate, I came across
a collection of stamps.

Not having any idea on value or if they are a required item, I found
this site with the hope of some expertise and advice.
Would anyone have an idea?

Thank you.

Welcome Mark,
These stamp do not have any real market value but their true value is that they represent your mom's interests. I would suggest that you consider using them to start up a stamp collection which will serve as a remembrance of her. It would also give you and your family an opportunity to build some new family memories; occasionally sitting around the kitchen table together and enjoying a great hobby.

I agree that these have no real commercial value.

I would note that stamps with missing perforations, tears, or missing parts almost always have reduce commercial or collectible value despite the fact you may see some on ebay for sale. This does not always apply to older rarer stamps.

It seems that every week I see one of these posts. I know that in their fertile imaginations when they post the picture of their mother/father/grandparent/or whomever's stamps they think that the forumites will all clamor: "I must have these rare gems!" and a bidding war will ensue. They imagine themselves receiving enough cash to buy that vacation home in southern Florida they always dreamed of. (Or at least enough for a new Cadillac.) The reason he has not logged in since February is that no one offered to buy his rare gems for thousands of dollars.
