I haven't seen these cancels before and thought they were interesting. A pair of similar handstamp cancels from the French shipping line 'Compagnie Generale Transatlantique'. The words on the interior of the cancels, 'CABINE' meaning CABIN, and 'ENTREPONT' meaning STEERAGE, imply that they were used on passage tickets or similar documents having to do with passengers.
