The Scott catalogue photos of the overprint on this stamp are very small and poor. There are 6 types and none are a clear match.

James - thus is a complicated series. You really need a clear scan so that those who know it can advise.

Agmas - the general Scott catalogue isn't used much in Europe (although those collecting US doubtless use its US catalogue), so Scott numbers don't mean anything to most of us.

Seems to be a 1894 2/64 opt. purple/brownish orange. Small"2".Large "Atts". CV $1.07.

Hi! This looks like SG no.48 type37d. Why? 1)bottom characters as shown in the cat.identical as those on the stamp. 2)Big A is of the narrow type. 3)s inverted. So the price went up!.....

James45: I don't know from what year the SG cat. is that GeoffHa posted.So it's £17.00 in that cat.(enough for a beer or two)Oh by the way ;always check these stamps on the back;some of them have overprints to...the prices go way up...
