Hello

I received this stamp.
stampworld doesn't know it, and kolnekt identifies it as 1990
Mi:NG C546A with 14 perforation.
What I have seems to be a "tear-lick-use" type, and since I got it from two sellers, I don't think it was done by a scissor-heapy perforation circumciser

What do you think?

Thak you for the info. Judging from the stamp quality, I'm glad it's a forgery and not something actualy representing a country.

It does look strange, to bother faking a low value stamp.

Wonder if such "tear-lick-use" type is in use anywhere.

Apparently such fake stamps were used by scammers to actually send letters through the mails from Nigeria to potential targets back in the days before they switched to email. Seems that they must have worked with some cooperative postal clerks who would accept the letters with such crude forgeries. Too bad that it was removed from the envelope, but still collectible.

I've seen a few of them posted on the various stamp forums (although I've never received one in the mail). I'm surprised by how many made it through the Nigerian postal service -- gives a lot of credibility to the post by ekbustad regarding "cooperative postal clerks".

Once I was tempted to respond to the scam email using delaying tactics just to try to get one of those counterfeit stamps in the mail, but decided it wasn't worth the potential trouble.

in my mind. this forgery has more worth due to it being a fake then it would
if it was real.
and a bad forgery is even cooler
