The problem with the new
ebay Seller Hub is not functionality, but lack of communication. Someone at
ebay made the decision to redirect the My
ebay link to some other page with charts and graphs on it. It was not until I received an email from an
ebay Manager after sending a rather detailed list of Seller Hub shortcomings that I was motivated enough to look around and find the replacement My
ebay All Selling page and book marking it. It is the only
ebay page I use regularly in any case. It is still more or less bug-wise compatible with My
ebay, even if it doesn't render quite as fast in Microsoft Edge.
The moral of the story is that the functionality is still there, but I didn't find it for a year because
ebay has communicated nothing about navigation around the new site and how to continue using the most popular selling pages. In any case, I would never rely on the
ebay web site to create listings or fulfil sales because the information is not automatically exported and it is certainly not secure or persistent. I have sales records going back more than the years in the SixBit eCommerce Solution SQL Server database which is backed up regularly and archived off site. The other key advantage for me is the ability to write my own SQL Server queries to produce custom reports like the quarterly Massachusetts sales tax collected needed for tax filings. It is also helpful when attempting to descramble PayPal transaction log data.
Unfortunately, sales data on
ebay disappears after a couple of months and listings may unexpectedly disappear without notice.
