I was informed late last year by the APS that they hoped to be accepting Paypal payments from some time mid January 2017 .
Does any one know if this is yet possible ?

Here is the announcement but I have not yet tried to use it. I am also not sure if it is only for StampStore purchases (i.e. also used for membership renewals?).http://blog.stamps.org/2017/02/13/p...-stamps-org/

The web link that Don gave has the opportunity to ask a question - try going directly to the source.

APS accepts PayPal for any payment transaction at http://stamps.org including StampStore, dues, donations and others. All matters that involve payment feed into the same, consistent shopping cart interface and PayPal can be selected for the contents of the cart toward the end of the transaction.

I decided to go ahead and renew my APS membership but they do not accept PayPal to renew dues.

Update... You can renew your dues using PayPal but this is not mentioned/found on the renewal page; it only shows the credit card method.

To renew, you must first go to 'Your Account' and transfer funds into your APS account from PayPal. Then once you have that balance in your APS account, you can use it to pay your dues.

It should be noted that APS uses this procedure so that funds owed to members from APS, for example from StampStore or circuit book sales, can offset dues owed for renewal. APS uses a member account model to support sales efforts and sends checks once a month to members with a positive balance over a specified threshold (e.g., $25). For some members, the ability to accumulate funds from sales over the year, then pay their dues from those funds, is useful.
