Try using your smart phone to take a picture of the stamp on a black background or in a watermark tray with fluid. Quality should be high enough to use.

'Wet scan', scan the stamp while still wet with watermark fluid. Note: clean the scanner glass well after doing this, do not get fluid on plastic parts of scanner.

Great Britain Small Crown (wmk 18) & Large Crown (wmk 20)

Immerse stamp(s) in a black tray, and add watermarking fluid.
Use a camera with "close-up" focus enabled.

Actually tried the wet scan and macro lens photo. Photo worked really good in this case. Do you guys actually use watermark fluid or the Ronsonol Lighter fluid?

Trodent

The stamp in question is not listed in any catalog yet(NSSC or Unitrade) but its the inverted watermark on the 10 cent Salmon on Line perf 13.7 (Scott 236 or NSSC 221)

I use Clarity.

"Clarity contains no solvents, no CFCs, no HCFCs and will not affect inks, adhesives or taggants on the stamp. It is made from non-flammable, non-toxic and non-hazardous materials."

I use Clarity as well. Be sure to keep the bottle lids closed and tight. The stuff as well as any watermark fluid is designed to evaporate quickly.
