I'm not sure this is the correct forum. If have some interesting U.S.S. cancellations. Is there any sites with more information? Are there any rare ones?

Not my area of expertise, but there is a Ship Cancellation Society that should be able to supply further information. I am quite sure that the American Philatelic Research Library in Bellefonte, PA would have a complete run of their journal.

Airmails are "back of the book" in the Scott catalog, so you've chosen exactly the right forum.

The USCS (the ship cancel organization) is a good resource. There is a 2-volume looseleaf catalog of US naval postmarks that is a good resource for the area. I enjoy commercial mail from US navy vessels, but it was my son's idea really. He collects the three ships that are now at the Buffalo Naval Park (USS Little Rock, USS The Sullivans, USS Croaker). I collect machine cancels from US navy ships before World War II and ships with Ohio city names. Naval collecting has a lot of philatelic mail and cachets, but have a general fondness for actual mail sent by the crew of any ship.

Thanks for the responses. I will check out the USCS for more information. I'm also trying to thing of a way to display them with the ships history.
