Very nice spotting although I can't seem to find the spur VAR. listed. They have little value as yet but an unusual find. And a lot better condition than most.
I have two copies of ACSC. This variety doesn't appear in the older, with the relevant page dated 1988, but is in my newer copy on a page dated 1996.
New entries must have been coming in fast and furious over that period. The older book has issues up into the 1980s. The newer book is is quite a bit thicker but still only covers pre-decimals. (My father's copy from the late 1940s was only about a half inch thick.
Unfortunately my 1996 page from ACSC doesn't give a position or otherwise refer to it in the notes.
Incidentally, the catalogue number has changed sometime between my two issues. On the 1996 page it is 292d. On the 1988 pages, I think is is 166. I say "think" because the numbers in the listing do not agree with the numbers on the illustrations. I would suspect, however, that the listing would take preference.
In case you are interested, here are the numbers given in the listing and for the illustrations:
161 Green Wheat in illustrations - Butter in list 162 Green Beef in illustrations - Wheat in list 163 Green Butter in Illustrations - Beef in list
164 Red Wheat in illustrations - Butter in list 165 Red Beef in illustrations - Wheat in list 166 Red Butter in Illustrations - Beef in list
ACSC seems to have gone through a couple of major numbering plan changes.
As per my 1988 version:
Kangaroos number up from K1 KGV side faces (with the exception of the initial engraved issue) number up from V1 All other regular stamps number up, starting at 1 for the KGV side faced engraved issue.
As per my 1996 version:
Kangaroo starts at 1 and later issues continue throughout in, as far as I can see, in strict chronological order. For example, if a set is added to at a later date, its catalogue number reflects all intervening issues rather than keeping a single set with a contigious range of numbers.
And, yes, I had checked my produce food greens for the white flaw but unfortunately none there our of the four strips I have.
The three and half-pence scarlet stamp with the colour spur at the top of "B" of "BEEF" (ACSC 292d) is worth $30 USED. From the recent edition of ACSC published 2015.
