Something to look for, if you collect this area. A normal 1932-1937 6d stamp has various shades, and you are very lucky if you find an inverted watermark. The example below is frequently overlooked. I have two copies. The key is the Break in the upper frame over "AL".

The normal version is worth about $1 used. The variety shown (ACSC 150d) is worth about $35.

Happy hunting.

Kookaburra (Kingfisher)

Dug out my 6 copies, no luck.
All mine appear to be "Pale red brown"

Another reason to keep "duplicates" until one exhausts all flyspecking.

Your part Slogan Postmark...??? LETTER / U.S.A. / ADDRESSEE / DOUBLE DEFICIT.

The current price for the 1932 Kookaburra (ACSC 150d) is mint unhinged - $250. Mint lightly hinged - $150. Fine used - $50.

A normal 1932 kokkaburra on cover is worth $50, it is most likely a 150d variety on cover would be a lot more.

The same stamp with an inverted watermark is valued at $10,000.

These prices are from the latest ACSC (Australian Commonwealth Specialists' Catalogue) published in 2015. The ACSC is published every 4 - 5 years if there is enough new entries to be added.
