This Is The Strangest Precancel I've Ever Found...

The stamp is Scott 502. Not a big deal. The precancel is Des Moines Iowa (PSS Type L-4 E). Ordinarily not a big deal, but this is not only inverted, the printing is reversed!

I'd love to hear any thoughts the experts have on this one.

Looks like it was just applied (normal precancel hand-stamp) to a stamp that got feed into the que upside down.

Rotate the stamp and you have.....



Although not a common occurrence it does happen from time to time. I do not believe there are any rules against this practice.

Stampman, it looks perfectly normal to me? Make a scan with the stamp upside down and you will see.
Well, ProStat beat me to it but we are saying the same thing.
