If interested in British Stamp Exhibitions and their sheets, cards, labels, presentation packs and booklets, you may care to download the 600 page A5 PDF catalogue that Graham Wilson and I have compiled.

For sheets go to http://www.gbps.org.uk/information/...%202010).pdf

and for stamp booklets go to

http://www.gbps.org.uk/information/...%202015).pdf

We have recently made these two volumes available for free (although normal copyright restrictions still very much apply) on the GBPS website in the hope that new material will come to light and be reported in time for the next edition.

Congratulations, Glenn! An impressive work. I'm mostly interested on cinderellas, but I've downloaded both catalogues for a later proper reading.
Hours of enjoyement lay ahead!
We're also working on a catalogue of Catalan cinderellas, also as PDF.

Hi Glenn,
fabulous piece of work. Bravo.

Hear! hear!

1955 DE LA RUE STAMP CENTENARY EXHIBITION
6-18 June, Royal Philatelic Society rooms, Devonshire Place,
London, W1

Glenn, I have an image of the first proof of the above, in a letter from De La Rue.

It is not my image, I have dated it 2011
I must have gathered it when investigating my De La Rue (as we knew it then) as "Cinderellas"

Would you be interested?

All my material is collated under one heading "Great Britain : Cinderellas"
I am using your Monograph, to isolate the "Exhibition" material. (an arduous task)

I came across this cover in my collection.....any use?

1958 THE STORY OF STAMPS EXHIBITION: Exhibition by De La

Rod, sorry for not having included a response to your posting. Doh! I think that I would benefit from seeing a scan of what you have, please, re 1955 DLR item when your time permits. GLENN

Here you go Glenn,
I have a heap of "Exhibition" scans (over 1000) but I really do not know what qualifies in your discipline.

There are heaps of images on this forum by member "Londonbus" that may be of help to you.

My original images came as a result of posting the De La Rue (what I then thought were just self promotional cinderellas)

I do not know the owner of this scan, or the author, I have it dated to have downloaded 18th Jan 2011

Hope it is of some help.

Does this mean a new catalogue is in the pipeline ?
Glenn, we met briefly at the Cinderella Congress in 2016 and I mentioned that I had sent Graham some scans of unlisted items quite some time ago. Is this still the address for new material ?

Londonbus1,

Good to hear from you. Yes, please continue to send anything new to Graham.

Spring Stampex 2018 saw the release of a new edition of BSE by Graham and myself. It won a Large Vermeil medal at the show and has now been released as a multi-set free e-book publication.

The Great Britain Philatelic Society has again kindly agreed to host the publication and, while it is also available at stampprinters.info, you are encouraged to download from GBPS in the hope that you will look around their site and might be interested in subsequently joining the society.

British Stamp Exhibitions (4th Edition) Vol 1 Pt 1 (Sheets etc)
Glenn H Morgan and Graham M Wilson
[575pp, 22.9Mb, 2018]
Catalogue of stamp exhibition sheets, cards, labels, presentation packs (to 1980)
http://www.gbps.org.uk/information/...%202018).pdf

British Stamp Exhibitions (4th Edition) Vol 1 Pt 2 (Sheets etc)
Glenn H Morgan and Graham M Wilson
[575pp, 18.6Mb, 2018]
Catalogue of stamp exhibition sheets, cards, labels, presentation packs (1980-2017)
http://www.gbps.org.uk/information/...%202018).pdf

British Stamp Exhibitions (4th Edition) Vol 2 (Booklets)
Glenn H Morgan and Graham M Wilson
[112pp, 22.1Mb, 2018]
Catalogue of stamp exhibition souvenir booklets
http://www.gbps.org.uk/information/...%202018).pdf

British Stamp Exhibitions (4th Edition) Vol 3 (Souvenir mail)
James Negus
[464pp, 4.9Mb, 2018]
Catalogue of stamp exhibition souvenir mail
http://www.gbps.org.uk/information/...%202018).pdf

First published in 1995, the fourth edition of this three volume set, which covers British
stamp exhibitions to Autumn Stampex 2017, includes several new features:
• A four star rating system indicating relative scarcity of exhibition souvenirs. The authors
hope this will be more useful than the highly variable market prices given previously.
• Ephemera; examples of publicity labels, catalogues, entrance tickets and so on.
• Additional background information, with the intention of making the catalogue more than
just a listing.
• Six new appendices, including a fully illustrated listing of Polish souvenir sheets issued
for non-philatelic events.
• Electronic tick boxes that let you keep a record of your collections, as with printed books.
• Research undertaken by James Negus into what he termed 'British Souvenir Mail'.
• Details of the British stamp exhibition holdings of The Royal Philatelic Society, London.

We hope that readers will find this publication of interest.

GLENN and GRAHAM

What a pity I didn't know it was coming. I have one or two more items to add !! Also, I noticed while one or two of the items I sent to Graham are included, one or two are not. (I still have to look through the whole catalogue)

I won't send anymore now just in case they are mis-placed !!

Londonbus1,

Despite the work being more than 1,300 pages, new items will, of course, always be found. The final word is never written. If Graham has missed an item or two, I for one will certainly forgive him as we spent hundreds of hours between us on this free publication. If a further edition is ever produced, then I am sure your items will be retrospectively incorporated and we both thank you for your kind contributions thus far.

I would also forgive him ! Some of those emails go back to 2011, I am not sure if I even have them on file any longer.
I will enjoy a good read of the catalogue at the weekend.

I am mid-way through an article for CP about British Stamp Exhibition material so you will get a thumbs up from me there when it's finished !
