Came across this stamp in a collection I recently inherited and I can't find much info on it. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Allegory of Faith and Energy issue. The stamp also comes in dark red color.

Your stamp, the (dark) violet variety, was issued over the years with 4 different watermarks.

These are the 4 possibilities, from the Scott catalog:

Brazil #285(1933), watermark #222 ("CORREIO BRASIL" with 5 stars in squared circle)

Brazil #435(1936), watermark #249 ("CORREIO BRASIL")

Brazil #471(1939), watermark #256 ("CASA+DA+MOEDA+DO+BRAZIL")

Brazil #491(1940), watermark #264 ("CORREIO*BRASIL*")

All the issues are either Scott catalog minimum or low value stamps.
