i, all

I didn't inherit a stamp, but it was sent to me in a batch of Amelia Earhart related material and I'm trying to learn its value...not sure if this is the right folder for this or not.

I have an Amelia Earhart overprint of a Mexican stamp from the 1930s. I've looked online and crisp versions of the overprint are valuable - thousands of dollars...

But as you can see from the attached scan, this overprint is very faded. Amelia Earhart can be read, the rest of the overprint are just vague impressions of blue ink.

Am I right in assuming that this would be a POOR stamp, and that is therefore valueless?

Thanks for any help!

Looking at the Scott Classic catalog for this stamp, the lettering does not seem to be exactly the same. I suspect your overprint is not real, but in any case, it needs a certificate of authenticity to be marketable. Good luck
