I recently inherited some stamps and was wondering if anyone knew anyone in Arizona that is knowledgeable about stamps. My contact information is *** Private information removed by Staff. Please do not post your address/email/phone number etc. ***

I can also post pictures if needed.

Thank you,
Hunter

Scans would be great in the appropriate forum. Arizona has many stampers but first I would suggest you remove the email address. Not safe on a public forum.

What you show is mostly postage which dealers frequently purchase at a deep discount from the face value of the stamps. The lower the denomination the deeper the discount. Keep in mind that modern postage stamps are nothing more than an obligation to provide service equal to the face value of the stamp. By that I mean that your 6¢ HOPE stamp once provided first class service for a letter, it now provides less than 1/8 of the service. For a local dealer you might start with the American Stamp Dealers Association (https://www.americanstampdealer.com...roup=9&id=9) this will allow to search for a dealer by state or go the American Philatelic Society site (http://stamps.org/Dealers).

You have sheets which are worth more than face value such as the 5¢ Space Twins sheet. Keep in mind that minimum value in the Scott Catalogue represents work by the dealer to sell you the stamp and not its actual value which can be close to zero or 1¢. Again new issues are typically listed at double the face value for the same reason. If everything you inherited is in sheet form you might do well to figure out the total face value before you go to sell them. Many dealers will do a guesstimate to save time, typically on the low side. You can defend yourself by doing your homework.

Typically low denomination postage will sell for about 50% of face, so if you add up the value of all your sheets (6c X 50 stamps = $3) you can get 1/2 the total from a dealer or on ebay.
