Not to dominate the thread, but since you asked... starting at the end of the month and working backwards...
Based on stamp delivery dates, I believe some may be backdated, specifically the R53b, R69a, and the R45a pair, although looking closer at the latter that may actually be the European "Dce" abbreviation for December rather than "Oct". I originally purchased that pair for the doubled top frame line on the left stamp.
We start off with a scarce Andrew Dougherty printed cancel that does not specify the day, just the month and year. I have numerous examples of this cancel, but this is the only October 1862 date. I have a November 1862 example, but all others are 1863. My earliest handstamped cancel is November 4, 1862. Finding a printed cancel with an October date is almost unheard of.
This example is actually somewhat unusual being on an R3c rather than R2c. 99% of examples you will find are on the R2c, which would make sense, as Andrew Dougherty was a Playing Card company. Apparently they ran out of the 1-cent Playing Cards stamps on occasion, as I also have an example on R1c, the 1-cent Express.
