Issued to commemorate the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge on March 19, 1932. The design features the Bridge from the south-east, with a passenger liner the R.M.S. Orford passing beneath it to provide a perspective of the sheer size of the bridge.

Supplies of the recess-printed 2d stamp had to be supplemented by larger supplies of letterpress-printed stamps, as a result of a late request by the Post Office for considerably increased quantities of 2d stamps to be made available.

The 2d, 3d and 5/- were printed by flat-bed recessat the Note Printing Branch in Melbourne; in addition, the 2d was also printed in letterpress from an additional set of plates (giving more detail to the design).

The recess stamps are unwatermarked, the letterpress stamp was printed on type 6 watermarked paper (multiple Crown and C of A.

Perforation for the recess is 11 (single line) and the letterpress 10.5 (comb).

The 5/- is C.T.O. eventually when a suitable mint unhinged stamp is located the C.T.O will be replaced.

There's also the 2d "Sweepstakes" postal forgery, a nice collectible item to add to the set. Here's a side by side comparison between a genuine & forged stamp

Thanks YeaPolska for the link, I wish I did have a Sperati forgery, they are worth a few thousand dollars each, much more than the authentic stamp. He only forged high end stamps.

And the "Sweepstakes" forgery, they are around but are too scarce to locate and will command a fair price, especially if it is commercially used.

I definitely will have forgeries included, if I am lucky for one to cross my path.
