I just had a question on this stamp. Can you tell me more history on it. I've been trying to research my stamps and found this costing quite a bit, and I wanted to know why. I have 2.
The difference in price is the watermark. Unwatermarked have nominal value. Watermark 181 (wavy lines) are the pricey stamps. Have you dipped these stamps in watermark fluid?
These 2 violet colored coil stamps came in 2 flavors -- watermarked wavy lines (Scott watermark 181) and unwatermarked. The unwatermarked variety is common. The watermarked stamps have the major premium. Have you checked for the watermark?
