Hello gabatgh, and welcome to the forum! I'm afraid it is more of a novelty value. Worth hanging on to certainly, but not of much value. If you are lucky enough to meet a collector of Arthur Szyk, sell them to him and accept what is offered!
Thanks for the welcome! I've been a member of Coin Community for about four years and have occasionally popped in here to look something up but have never had the need to ask anything.
As for these stamps, no need to apologize. It is what it is and that's why I asked :)
No, one auction doesn't help in value. If it sells, that doesn't really mean anything. The buyer might've just thought they were pretty and not even a stamp collector. They might be worth seven times that and there weren't enough bids to get the price to where it should have been. The scenarios are endless!
I am honestly thankful that you shared the link though. Back in 2017 I don't think I'd seen anything like these anywhere. They've been put on the bottom of the proverbial pile, so I haven't gotten back to them yet, and since then I've gotten better at rooting out sources (plus I'm a worthpoint.com member now.)
The guy selling these on ebay is a known Liberia dealer though and an active member of the Liberian Philatelic Society so probably has a good idea of "value"
