Has anyone with a standing order received any of Black History, Canadian Opera and/or Daisies?

I haven't so I phoned Canada Post about it.

First person I talked to couldn't understand why I wouldn't have so she had someone else phone me a few hours later. That person said that they were now going through with combining issues as Canada Post had announced last year but never did (until now).

So, apparently April 27th is when they will start shipping all the above mentioned issues plus the Jan-Mar Quarterly Pack.

While this won't be a hardship on me, it may very well be to many retired folks on a limited income to have to deal with a potentially very large dollar amount order all at once rather than spread out over several months. I mentioned this to the person and she suggested I email Jim Phillips to point this out.

By the way, there was a $15 charge from Canada Post to my credit card late last night. I asked her what that would be for, in light of comments about combining issues, and she said it was for the Vimy Ridge souvenir sheets. She didn't know why they would be an exception.

Unfortunately, I forgot to ask her why the first person I talked to would not have been informed of this change to the standing order schedule.

So, what are your thoughts on all this? Will it affect you? Should we be complaining to Canada Post? Are there any other ramifications to getting the stamps way past their actual issue date?

Thanks,
Peter

A stand-alone flyer was issued for the Vimy Ridge issues. I received mine several days ago. The issue was not included in Issue #2 of the "Canadian Details" which covers Feb - March issues. My last issues received were the Lunar New Year and UNESCO issues from Jan 2017.

I recall receiving a separate letter last year about going to a quarterly shipping policy as a cost saving measure (for them).

I've experienced the same and called Canada Post last week to inquire. I was told the same with regard to consolidating orders and that everything not yet received would be shipped later in April. And, if I heard correctly, the person I spoke with mentioned an upcoming Star Trek issue would also be included in that shipment.

The day after I called my credit card was charged a small amount which could be the Vimy Ridge booklet.

Saw a bit on TV this morning about the 40th anniversary of Star Wars. Maybe the Canada Post employee misspoke (or I misheard) when he said Star Trek.

No, its Star Trek. Jim Phillips mentioned that at the Coin and Stamp show a couple of weeks ago in Mississauga. They well have the captains from the various Star Trek spinoffs (e.g. Captain Janeway from Voyager)

The Royal Philatelic Society's web site shows the following:
Apr 27: Star Trek(tm): Year 2 (Captains)

$8.50b Permannet (85c) (booklet pane of 10, 5 designs)
$42.50Permanent (85c) (roll of 50: 2 designs)
$7.35 souvenir sheet of 5
$21.95 Prestige booklet
$44.10 uncut press sheet of 6 souvenir sheets
Prepaid Postcards (5 designs @ $2.50 each)

I emailed Canada Post's media department today asking why there are no references to this new issue in Postage Stamps or News Releases and suggested that the omission indicates very poor communications with the public.

Received an email from CP today telling me that my Vimy Ridge souvenir sheet was on its way. I got the FDC about two weeks ago. Nothing about the Canada/France FDC and souvenir sheet. Has anyone heard when they'll be issued?

I received a shipment on Monday containing all of my standing order items from Mathieu Da Costa through the Star Trek issue. The Vimy Ridge booklet was included in that shipment but a separate one-off order for additional Vimy Ridge items hasn't yet been received.

Just received Details #4, April 2017 today in the mail. So if one assumes that the Vimy Ridge pamphlet was #3 (nowhere inside it does that appear though), then no Details are missing.

Canada Post seems to be losing the communication battle. Hard to understand all the lack of informaiton for its key customerrs (we the stamp collectors). Lets hope they don't expand in the banking business....and start to pay attention to details.....
