Sorry to revive this old post everyone. Greg I have a banknote specimen sheet that looks exactly like the one you posted a picture of. Right down to the crosshatching on the side. The reprints, The 998, from what I have been able to tell, have an extra border around the sheet. Could it be that I may have the proof of the 998. It is exactly like the one you posted a picture of and not like the reprints.

I think you may have misunderstood my post. That *was* a reprint that I posted. So I'd have to say yours is also a reprint.

The crosshatching, btw, was a way to keep the paper from slipping against the very large printing plate. The deep marks along the leading edge acted as a gripper to keep the paper in place.
