Hello,

I'm new to the forum.

I've trying to find any information on google in regards imperforate stamps for the Germania "Deutsches Reich" with no luck so far so I'm not sure if they do exist.

I have this 20pf stamp which I don't know if it's an original or fake one, please look pictures attached (front and back). Pictures are not scan, taken with macro lens.

If it's an original, any possible value for it?

Your help will be much appreciated.

Thanks kindly in advance for your answers.

Have a great day!

Hello MooseB, welcome to the forum.

At first glance it looks like a cut out from a stationery piece.

It does not look like paper(it looks like thicker stationery kind of material)

I do not have a complete example to show, but I am sure other members will.

kind regards, Johan.

It's translucent a bit so I'm guessing a cutout from a postal money order (Postanweisung). There were various printings of the 20pf between 1900 & 1920. Might be worth a dollar

Here's one from ebay

MooseB- See, I told you you would get good information on SCF.

Yes, a cut-out from an envelope or money order looks quite likely.

Unfortunately, the folks at Scott catalog don't think it is important or necessary to inform collectors about postal stationery cutouts of European stamps. This is especially bad when there really are imperforate varieties such as North German Confederation, Scott #s 1a - 11a.

Thx all for your help and replies, much appreciated. It seems it's from a stationery cutout piece, glossy and translucent but not thick though.

I will sell some German stamps on ebay so I wanted to have an idea on the asking price.

Yes Jkjblue, your advice was really helpful.

Cheers!
