I came across some presidential stamps all singular except for a double 10 cent Monroe side by side which are perforated, top and bottom are straight edges. Can anyone tell me more on these stamps?

Lenora2006, welcome to the forum. These are two coil stamps, also called a pair. A pair is always more sought after as a single stamp, so please do not destroy.

Based on your scan, you have a used pair of Scott 603 which has a catalogue value of $.25 (the minimum Scott uses). It is still more desirable as a pair than two singles.
