Good catch(es)--thanks. I should have gotten the Wyoming flag, but I don't think I would have ever gotten the Kansas flag by looking only at stamps (and to think, there are five bison there).

You aren't going to wanna to hear this, but there are approx. 100 different Kansas state Egg Tax stamps that include the State Seal. As you know, there are 5 bison running from hunting Indians as part of the seal design.

The following is an example from 1952 - 1954, SRS Cat number E19:

Groan, StateRevs, you are correct--that's one big hunk of stamps. It also brings to mind the possibility of buffalo on duck stamps (doesn't seem too likely, but it would not surprise me). I think I will go no further than US postage items (looks like that's 30 or so).

howell1018, now I see the connection--I did not know that. And I bet there are other CU attendees on stamps besides Glenn Miller. Also that brings to mind the possibility of other schools in that category--I know of at least two [U of Colorado Buffalos and David Lipscomb University Bison).

Dogman - on the plus side they are not expensive. You can make a decent run at it by watching ebay. They appear pretty frequently as multiple stamp lots and you can probably get many of them that way. There will be of course those few problem children you just can't seem to find...

What is life but boring if you don't have a challenge or two?

This is one topical collection that I had wanted to also start but never got the chance given that there are many such stamps from different countries.

rod222,
Bye son? Seriously?
Thanks for posting that stamp-ede from "Where's Wally?". Cool.

jogil,
Many buffalo stamps indeed. I think Canada in particular has a bunch? Or maybe that's coins. Or maybe both.

I identified these stamps from Canada related to bison:

Sc #562 8 cent Catlin painting (Plains Indians)
Sc #563 8 cent bison skull and other objects (Plains Indians)
Sc #884 35 cent wood bison.
SC #1781 46 cent Yellowhead Highway
Sc #2725 "P" Royal Ontario Museum
Also there were Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump stamps in 2002, 2014, and 2016, I think.

Any others?
