After compiling a topical album of comprehensive issues on fine art topics for a given time period and a given country, I've come to think that I might prefer designing a few albums that are devoted to some of my favorite artists, and which tell the story of their lives and works, and what they're considered to have contributed to art history. I imagine that for Renaissance artists, I might follow the sequence laid out by the 16th century historian Giorgio Vasari, in his famous book The Lives of the Artists. This appeals to my interests as an art historian, but also has the added benefit, for me, of allowing my collection to range broadly over times and places without the burden (financial and otherwise) of collecting comprehensively.

For those of you who have topical albums arranged narrativally or taxonomically, or in some other non-traditional way, I'd love to hear about your albums and to see some photos if you're willing to share them.
