The cover article by Steve Swain — "Big Top Advertising Covers" — explores circus-related advertising, business, and souvenir items. Its primary focus is on Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey which has "folded its tent" after a 146-year run.

Other top stories include the Robert Panara first day ceremony in Rochester, New York, by Thomas M. Fortunato, and "Flyspecking George VI" by Michael Dodd, who will launch a UK column in the July-August issue.

Alan Warren reviews James Barron's new book — "The One-Cent Magenta: Inside the Quest to Own the Most Valuable Stamp in the World".

Charles Epting's New Deal Philately column — "Farleys Before There Were Follies" — examines imperf sheets presented to FDR,third assistant postmaster general Clinton B. Eilenberger, and Harold L. Ickes, secretary of the interior, a year before the infamous issues.

The featured video shows the unveiling of the Panara stamp at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf on the Rochester Institute of Technology campus. Panara was a founder of the NTID.
