Hello to all. Can someone inform me is this US Customs label used from Jan.15, 1947 considered a stamp? looks like a coil stamp. It has the original gum in the back. I never seen this before, but maybe someone in here has. Is there a listing in Scott Specialized Revenues for this item? Would appreciate any comment about it. Thank you in advance.
This is a Customs Baggage Stamp. They were printed in vertical strips. Their is a list of them that was published in The American Revenuer several years ago. They are not listed in Scott's Catalog. Due to a recent move I do not have easy access to my copy. So, you will have to wait for someone else to chime in with more specific info.

These were produced in booklet panes of 5 and there was a binding tab at the top where they were stapled. They were numbered from bottom to top. Thus the example shown at the beginning of this thread is from the top position next to the binding tab.
