Can anyone ID the orientation of this watermark? Can stationery watermarks be in any orientation?
Thanks in advance for any feedback

I can not tell which watermark from your scan, but below are the watermarks in use in that time period. They are from the UPSS 20th Century catalogue.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the orientation of the watermark can vary.

"orientation of the watermark can vary"

I agree with wtcrowe, with the caveat that some orientations are more probable that others. And the orientations will vary based on press type.

Stude-Dude,

Tell us why you are interested in the watermark orientation? Just curiosity?

Hi Thomas,
I was contacted by a person who sent me the images and asked me for an opinion on the watermark. I got his got permission to post the images to see if it would generate input from those who know more than my meager knowledge on postal stationery.
