On January 30, 1990 Ireland issued a set of two "Love" stamps. The 26p stamp features a whimsical, heart-shaped hot air balloon with two postal workers scattering messages of love.

This 32p stamp from Ireland's 1993 "Love" set of 2 stamps shows a man in a hot air balloon spreading love.

Japan issued these two hot air balloon stamps in 1989. They are Scott #s 1998 and B44.

Poland 1981

Here is a card indicating the Fifth Special Balloon Flight of Kiel, Germany. Card bears a special "Kiel Week" postmark, along with the blue hand stamp indicating it was carried aloft. A notation running up the left of the card indicates that a 50 pfennig donation was made to the Kiel Hot Air Ballooning Club.

German language text on the back of the card says the following, "Published by the Kiel Philatelic Association from 1931 a registered association, P. O. Box 2827, 2300 Kiel 1, on the occasion of 'Kiel Week 1987'. The largest balloonist meeting in northern Germany to date takes place during Kiel Week. It also commemorates the International Year for Decent Housing, which the United Nations proclaimed for 1987."
