Stamp Smarter has changed to a membership driven site, I just noticed.

They ask for an email address and it seems to be required. Does anyone receive unsolicited email from this site (if not then why do they want my email).

Before I think up yet another bullet-proof password, is the 1847usa material still accessible at this site?

If not does anyone know where the 1847usa material is now?

Thank you.

Stamp Smarter has not changed to a membership driven site. Memberships are used only if a person wants to be able to contribute any of the community databases. All the information is freely available to any user without signing up for anything.
1847usa info can be accessed by clicking on the big 1847usa banner on opening screen, or by clicking on Features in the menu, or by scrolling to the bottom of ANY page and clicking on the 1847usa icon.
Don

Edit: I would add that Stamp Smarter has never, ever sent any 'mass emails' or spam. Email addresses have never been sold, given, or shared with anyone else.

What Don said...

As a member of the stampsmarter website, I can vouch for their integrity - unconditionally. They are certainly not sending unsolicited emails.

While you can use all of the features on the website without registering, members can contribute. If the website needs to contact someone who added something, they need to be able to get in touch with you - hence the need for your email. Nothing nefarious about this website...
