Rod:
Are you having a senior moment? Cobham (Surrey) or Oakham (Rutland)? And 1876 or 1867?
Frank. |

Hey, Rod, you realize of course that my last was based firmly on personal experience. |

Quote: Hey, Rod, you realize of course that my last was based firmly on personal experience. I see, personally, I am not up to "Senior" moments just yet, Frank. I am at the "Mature moments" level, (and progressing well) You know, putting my knitted tops on back to front, and using the TV remote to adjust the air cond. |

Would be brought home to you more if you had the little Rods at home ...
- "I thought I'd do sea-bass with ratatouille tonight. I've got it out of the freezer". - "You are joking aren't you? You KNOW that I'm eating at Lauren's tonight - you wrote it in your diary"
Repeat every few days. |

Quote: Seems like Great Britain do not include a date on their stamps anymore. Rod, Most British stamps still have the year of issue hidden in the design in microprint or even hidden in the phosphor tagging. But you do have to know where to look. |

Quote: Do Gibbons give reference to locations I wonder? I suspect Gibbons does not. If so, the Specialised might do this. In the past, The Bookmark Journal of the Modern British Philatelic Circle did. The last few issues do not show the hidden dates. |

Quote:I am ignorant of the usage of this lady, what postal usage may she have been used for? any ideas? From what I see on ebay, "Registered" appears on a few. Registration fees were nowhere near the £1 mark at the time. http://www.gbps.org.uk/information/...stration.phpQuote: I always assumed that the pound issues were use primarily for packages -- although I've definitely seen registration cancels on them. And it would make sense to register and insure parcels, especially when sent abroad. |
