I just received notice from ebay that my purchase of a Scott 217 was cancelled. No word from the Seller, drac44, as to why. Not nice and poor communication. Very unhappy. Jack Kelley

I've had that happen before -- a cancellation with no communication or explanation from the seller. It's very irritating. |

I thought that ebay sends an automatic cancel notice to the buyer? If so, do the ebay emails not include the input from the sellers form? Could it be that seller assumes that when they select the 'reason' on the cancel form that this information is sent along with the email? Don |

In my case, I just got a bare-bones notice from ebay: "The seller has canceled this transaction." |

Watch to see if it is relisted at a later date. Maybe he thinks he can get more money for it. Sellers can cancel for any reason and do not have to contact buyers. They may or may not get a defect for it depending on reason they picked. You may want to give ebay a call just to make sure they did not use problem with buyers address so they do not get a defect. |

Very likely the seller had it cross-listed on another site where it sold first and he forgot to remove it from ebay, but regardless of the reason, he does owe you a note of explanation as a courtesy. |

Durrrh. That is what negative feedback is there for.
Bid on used stamp A, and get mailed used stamp B, just leave a negative AFTER demanding a full refund, will wake the seller up VERY fast.
AND warn all future bidders.
Some folks on this Forum seem to feel leaving Negs is like turning someone over to the Feds.
Nope. They screw up, they get Negs. Can't see why that is hard for some here to do.

I had to cancel a transaction today at the buyers request and I was surprised to see ebay had changed the process. The last time I did it was a few months ago and the buyer had to agree to the cancelation if I chose "at buyers request" as the reason. Now the cancelation was immediate and I guess ebay is just taking my word for it. If someone canceled a sale on me without notice I'd call ebay and make sure the seller hadn't claimed "at buyers request". |

Holy Cow. Another cancellation! That's two in two weeks. Scott 159 this time. I think I've only had three or four cancellations over the past five years. Not nice. Very unhappy.

I don't think I have ever had a stamp I was in the process of buying disappear, but more than once I've had a stamp withdrawn in the middle of an auction. "Stamp no longer available" was all they told me. Of course, nothing from the seller.
