Finches, it is difficult to imagine just what that covered, Most High Values were either punched telegraphs, or conveyance of gold. Fremantle would suggest other use. That is one mighty parcel.

I haven't added anything to this thread in awhile, as my purchases have dropped off a tad. Searching through my current holdings, I found a Scott 124, ACSC 131 which has such a nice corner cancel, that I thought it was 131w, Cancelled to Order. However, it doesn't match the "Melbourne" styles in my book. Was this just a nice strike from Western Australia? Retroreveal tried to help me out. This is the best scan I could find. |

Opinion. Random Piece of hair, debris, hodge podge, picked up by the ink. (EFO) errors freaks or oddities.

Yes, agree on the comment concerning the Imprint. How about the Ductor Blade line? On most stamps, I would call this common. However, they list it on the left side. Just odd, in my opinion. |

Quote: How about the Ductor Blade line? Personally, I'd send it to Brusden White for consideration in later catalogue. I am ignorant of the consistency of position of ductor blade lines, I would have thought they be random, yet your catalogue image, suggests otherwise. |

Thanks for offering Scott #, makes my job Sooooo much easier. Referred to as a "shading line" (broken) These issues are riddled with EFO's, some spectacular. Unaware if this one is listed.
Update: Yes, I have one the same, so constant flaw. I'll post an image later.
Getting Old, look at the text below Sc#85 It reads "In the redrawn..." and highlights the missing shading line.

Thanks Rod
If anyone would know I knew you would. Thanks for your help.
Update: I'm using the Scott 1840 - 1940. Does mention shading lines in the neck only. Couldn't find anything regarding this flaw. Are you using the regular Scott catalog? |

I have no ref material for Melbourne / Vict Postmarks after "D" Bobby or Fair Dinkum may assist. Got it ! Internet : Author alex_c_y1977 GPO MELBOURNE VIC AUST |
