Die 1 volume 2 (December 2013) by Bill Fiora covering plates 12 to 29. Thank you. Have to chase that up, Author previously unknown to me. Seems reasonable at $100 AUD for the brace.(or so it seems) Just a tad heavy for me at the moment...tempted |

Finally found my way back to this thread. This is probably a "tin shed", but posted for comments (if any). Note the flaw below the first A of Australia. Also, the P of Postage is quite blurred, but it is located close to the cancellation, so could be some sort of processing smudge. Scott 98, ASCS 34, 1 shilling, small multiple watermark. |

Yes, I'll keep looking but I don't have too much faith in finding its twin. Thanks for commenting. |

Finally got out to a Stamp Bourse (been working a lot lately ... even though retired). This item is just different. I looked in up in my ACSC (ACSC 1922), and it appears to be from the 1996 Centenary of the Australian Football League. This is the Brisbane Booklet of 10, but it is attached to an envelope stamped at the Queensland Stamp and Coin Expo held in Brisbane from 8-10 October, 1996. So, it is not a first day cover of the stamp issue, but is a first day cover of the Expo. Quite interesting that the entire booklet is glued to the envelope, but it does open showing that each stamp is cancelled correctly. Folded Unfolded Any idea of correct ACSC callout and current value? Thanks in advance. |

Quote: Bottom stamp in the pair 1st image is mint. You are correct. They just missed that one. I'll leave it alone, however. |

I just picked up a larger selection of KGV's today, and this one was interesting. Scott 21d, ACSC 72, rough paper ... and I mean rough. This stamp is mint-hinged, so not influenced by damage in the mail. I love the compartment lines, and this one may qualify as all 4 lines, if we count the slight bends at the bottom. |

This seems to be the one with the highest catalog value from my latest find. It is Scott 21, ACSC 71, the single watermark on smooth paper. However this is also a Die II (with the spur) and with inverted watermark, which would make this a 71a(1)i valued in ACSC as AUS$375 used. When I ran this through postmark reveal, I was able to tease out "IEZL" which I am guessing is Friezland, Queensland. This location had a Receiving Office from 1899 to 1900 and a Post Office only from 1900 until renamed Kuridala in 1916. This postmark is rated as 2R in the Queensland Steel Datestamps catalog. Do the Aussie experts concur with my assumptions? |

Here's one that I cannot locate. It is Scott 28, ACSC 96, with the single watermark. This one has a "short T in TWO" as shown below. Probably fortunate overinking, and the watermark is nowhere near the area in question. Any comments? |
