William F. Sharpe, writing in the 7 August 2017 issue of Linns Stamp News, looks at stamp collecting related blogs, and amazingly, mentions mine and Jim Jackson's Big Blue blog. Scott International collectors everywhere no doubt are rejoicing.

Here is what Mr. Sharpe had to say about Jim's blog:

"The most comprehensive single site I found was Bud's Big Blue 1840-1940 at http://bigblue1840-1940.blogspot.com. (The big blue refers to the 1969 edition of the Scott International Album, Part I, 1840-1940.) For more information, scroll down on the left side of the main page and click on Bud's Big Blue — An Introduction and index.

The site contains scans of a completed edition of Scott's International Postage Stamp Album, Part 1, 1840-1940. Remarks about most stamps are included, and visitors can post their own comments."

Jim's Big Blue is indeed a veritable treasure house of information for the WW collector 18-40-1940.

I was wondering when Mr Sharpe would get around to feature some blogs focused on WW collecting.

Bob (1840 to 1940)-

You neglected to include a link to your very fine "Filling Spaces" blog - so here it is.

Dan (rdavid)-

Your July 2nd stamp from the Kimble collection for the Monthly Calendar published in the Big Blue blog was illustrated in Linns - congratulations!

Coming onto this thread a bit late, but I wanted to say these blogs led me to start collecting worldwide (yes Big Blue). Many thanks.

Well deserved! I suspect these two blogs are responsible for getting a lot of people (including me) back into stamp collecting again.

Too bad he mistakenly called it "Bud's Big Blue"

I appreciate Bill Sharpe doing these reviews in Linn's. Digital content creators are terribly unrepresented in our hobby. Investing 2000 man hours in the philately ought to be treated the same whether you are working on a book or a website.

Digital "literature" is not given the recognition it deserves.
