You can see a lot of us invest a lot of time creating personal pages.

I have a complete collection of US Airmail stamps -- C1 to C150 -- on White Ace pages in two Linder binders. Interleaved with these are White Ace pages for plate blocks, with additional pages for booklet panes and line pairs for C7 to C150, excluding the Zepps. On the backside of the White Ace pages I have FDC's for each issue, C7-C150, again excluding the Zepps. No research on the background of the stamps in these two albums.

I do have eight four inch binders with Vario pages of airmail stamps and covers with detailed pages of research/background with the kind of information and detail shown at the bottom of Rod222's post. I have two five inch binders dedicated just to the Transport Plane issues, and several more 5 inch binders dedicated to various U.S. aviation themed (not airmail) stamps and covers. Plus a half inch binder with a nearly complete collection of every airmail booklet with additional single panes.

I only collect US Airmail and US Aviation themed stamps and covers. With no more Airmail stamps being issued, and regular mail aviation themed stamps issued irregularly, most of my collecting now is covers. I am hoping, and expecting, that we will see a 100 year commemorative of the 1918 beginning of US airmail next year. Has anyone seen any "leaked" info about what to expect from the USPS in 2018?

Some Air Mail Etiquettes.

No, I don't have the Grand Canyon, Colorado error stamp. Do you? I haven't gotten around to collecting EFO's (or etiquettes, for that matter). I have tried to make sure I have all the various varieties of particular stamps, like to the two varieties of the William Piper airmail stamp.

Too many things to focus on, even for something as narrowly focused as US Airmails, which is what makes it interesting. Always something new. In my Linder albums where I have both singles and plate blocks, and covers, I have tried to collect covers with plate blocks as well (or panes or line pairs as appropriate). Here are the earliest of the airmail plate block covers I have:

The C16 cover may be the most valuable cover in my collection, even more than a recent C3 FDC I recently acquired. I've only ever seen one other, and it was a different corner block serviced by Gorham, so I imagine he did four in all. C16 FDC's to begin with are somewhat scarce (CV $175 vs. $14.50 for C17). Finding one with a plate block available for auction was a real fluke, I think.
