I'm Thinking Of Purchasing This 10c Washington Scott 68

I'm thinking of purchasing this 10c Washington, Scott 68, from an APS sales circuit I'm presently reviewing.





The centering is not the greatest, but I could find no defects like thins, creases, etc. The back of the stamp is the cleanest I've seen in a while for a stamp this old.

My concern is with the perforations. I'm no expert at detecting reperforations, but the bottom and left sides look a little sketchy to me.

I would love to hear some opinions from the experts before I pull the trigger, or return the stamp to its space in the circuit book.

It is always difficult to tell from a scan, but I think there is a good probability that the bottom is reperforated.

I could do without the shortish scissor-cut perfs. If your image is a scan I think some work on the bottom perfs is a near certainty. From the front you have a small corner crease at lower right corner...

More importantly, what is the asking price?

The seller is asking $18.00.

For $18 you can't get hurt. Cancel looks like an typical foreign mail exchange office cancel.

Stamp has been reperforated at left though.

Hi, another option you might consider, getting the TAG variety on a #68.

I think you will have to do some serious hunting to find a sound stamp with a red cancel for $18.

Maybe so but the question was is this stamp worth $18? I think he made the right decision.
