Some time ago, I bid on this strip of three 85's with the idea of breaking this strip into single stamps. I had promised my daughter and granddaughter I'd give them a first issue stamp for their collections.

So anyway after receiving this item realized this was misidentified by the seller, and was really R85d, silk paper example. So I had to get other first issue revenue stamps to fulfill my promise.

See the arrow on the image.

I like the strip intact with the nifty cancel and all. Is there a shortage of single stamps that I am not aware of?

Looks much nicer than three partial manuscript cancels. Historical.

Although it is the correct time period, a better scan is needed to prove it silk.

What better scan do you need. Had to reduce the kd just to get it on here?

I agree with Bart. It's impossible to tell anything from those tiny images.

You might try converting your pics to jpegs, all 3 of your pics are PNCs. Makes a huge difference. You strip of 3 PNC scan is 138 KB, I converted it to a jpeg ( in paint) which is 30.8 KB. I increased the size of the jpeg 300%, it is now slightly larger (file size, 141 KB) than your original scan, but the pic is 3 times the size.

Thanks for your information. I used my scanner that is connected to the computer in the front room.

I will try again with the older computer and scanner in my stamp room. I think I will be able to provide better scans this next time.

You could probably just convert your original PNC images to jpegs like I did. Open in paint (or any photo editor) and click save as JPEG from then drop down window. Increasing the size is also easy. Click resize ( I used 300%) and save.

That resizing, while it made the image larger, made the quality worse, as it upsampled the image. Not a good solution, in my opinion. You're much better overscanning at 600-1200dpi and posting it as is and let the forum software shrink it to fit the window. I do not recommend resizing images to larger sizes.

Hi Again

It took me a long time to get these images reworked, scanned, was hoping to hear back if they are acceptable? Took me about 15 times to get this far along, so are the images the correct size???

The big problem is that you have 3 large stamps and only one small fiber. That makes it all but impossible to assess from a scan.

Hi All

OK, here set at 600 and then only a portion of the pr2 in question.

It still does not work, here is what I am doing:

I click upload image.
I make adjustments as required, end results are:
Width 479
Image Quality 85
Sharpen 0

Green number above the image is 64.6KB

I click on save image(s)

Green arrow appears on upper image, I click on that green arrow.

I click on upload image, I get the following error message:

File sizes must be under 200 KB.

So what am I doing wrong?

Hi All Again

OK, now I think I under stand what you want, just a close up of the silk thread, is this what was meant that the images were too small?

Please let me know if this works for you.
